Year of the 'Government of the Lord'
“....and the government will be on His shoulders.....
Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end..”
Isa 9:6-7
Dearly beloved in Christ,
I bring blessed greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Our master led us through a glorious 2023 and so let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
As we enter into a brand new year 2024, I waited in His presence to receive His Word of grace for the new year. The Spirit specifically said that this year will be the year of ‘The Government of the Lord’. The word ‘government’ is also translated ‘dominion’, ‘Kingdom’, ‘power’ and ‘rule’. In the natural, we will witness political turmoil, but the Lord is calling our attention to the Government that actually is in control over all. It is the government of the Lord!! Jesus our Lord is on the throne. This glorious government is stable, prosperous, full of righteousness and mercy, speaks for those who do not have a voice and lifts up those who are weak (Psa 147:6).
Increase and not diminish
The scripture says in Isa 9:7 that this is an increasing government, meaning all its attributes will continue to increase and not diminish. The things happening around us in this world could give a sense of very little goodness around us, the Spirit of the Lord is lifting our eyes to look at the real and true government that actually governs us. The government of the Lord shall surround our lives with goodness far beyond our needs and expectations.
We shall increase!! (Jer 30:19;Psa 71:21)
The work of the Gospel shall increase!! (Acts 4:4)
Your children shall increase!! (Psa 115:14)
Your borders shall be peaceful
The scripture says in Psa 147:14,
“He maketh peace in thy borders...”
The Lord has promised that there will be peace in your borders. This scripture talks about all the boundaries that He has marked around you. Your family, your church, the city you dwell in, and your nation. You shall experience the peace of the Lord. He shall guard and protect you against strife and contention.
“You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence From the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.”
Psa 31:20
You will be exalted
The scripture says in Isa 2:2
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.”
Yes my beloved in Christ, the true action of the government of the Lord shall be witnessed. The Lord shall establish us in every area of governance. This will be a peak year in your callings and giftings. You shall be in governance over that field. The Lord shall increase you in wisdom and stature. People shall flock towards you to be instructed and taught. They shall come to the mountain of the Lord's house.
So my beloved children of God, be Kingdom and governance minded in this new year 2024. This shall be a pinnacle year in your life. The government of the Lord shall be seen in action, and shall continue until His coming and beyond without end.
